BRA-Vo for the Cure
CALLING ALL ARTISTS, CREATORS, BREAST CANCER FIGHTERS, CAREGIVERS, AND SUPPORTERS!
We invite you to stand with Conemaugh Health System and a courageous community of warriors in the battle against breast cancer. Together, we are creating a unique and uplifting “BRA”-Vo art exhibit that inspires hope and raises awareness about the profound impact of breast cancer and the critical importance of early detection.
The National Cancer Institute estimates that more than 300,000 women and men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and more than 42,000 will die of the disease.
We know that early detection dramatically increases the chance of survival. When caught early, breast cancer has a near 100% survival rate.
This October, bring the bling or fluff the feathers to transform a 36C bra into a one-of-a-kind work of art that tells a story, invokes humor, honors a loved one battling the disease or someone we have lost. The entries must be original. They will be displayed throughout the community, and prizes will be awarded!
Your Role
Battling breast cancer takes a community of support. That is why we are calling on you to use your imagination and artistry to help save lives.
Join Conemaugh in showing those who continue to fight that they have a community of support around them. Design and decorate the most “BRA”-Vo piece of art by yourself, with your friends, family, or coworkers.
To be eligible for a prize, completed “BRA”-Vo art pieces must be delivered, along with an entry form, to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center by October 1, 2024. Entry forms can be found here!
Awards
Five prizes will be awarded for the "BRA-Vo" decorating contest.
A panel comprised of Conemaugh Health System and community members will select the “Best in Show" and "Runner-Up.”
First, second, and third place “People’s Choice” awards will go to the entries receiving the highest total number of votes cast on the cone. The winners will be decided by the highest number of votes cast on the Conemaugh webpage, Facebook page, and the Tribune Democrat. The winners will be announced during an in-person celebration at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. All participants are invited to attend.
People’s Choice voting will take place from October 1 - October 31. Anyone can vote by selecting their favorite entry on the Conemaugh Health System website. You can cast your vote right here beginning October 1.
