Donor Recognition Wall
Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center's organ, tissue, and eye donor recognition wall is located on the 3rd floor of Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center's Main Campus Clinical Pavilion. The wall is dedicated to all individuals who have positively impacted a life through organ, tissue, or eye donation.
Conemaugh Memorial is a two-time recipient of the Thomas Poliziani Living Legacy Scholarship, by the Pennsylvania Hospital Collaborative in Pittsburgh, which helped fund the creation and implementation of the wall. Funds for additional features of the wall were received from the 1889 Foundation.
The recognition wall includes frames for 35 photos of recent organ, tissue, and eye donors.
The wall also includes a "life tree" and words emulating the characteristics of donors including caring, compassion, respect and love. A poem entitled "My Final Gift", written by Suzanne Anderson, the late wife of a CORE employee, is etched on a glass piece.
An interactive kiosk includes a database of Conemaugh Health System donors and local recipients.
An annual donor recognition wall dedication is hosted each April by the Conemaugh Health SystemDonor Advisory Committee. To learn more about the Donor Recognition Wall, contact Conemaugh Health System Marketing Communications at (814) 534-9611.
