Conemaugh Physician, Jessica Masser, DO named Physician of the Year

Dr. Masser was nominated by Peter F. Bidey, DO, MSEd, FACOFP, Vice Chair, Department of Family Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
“Dr. Masser has all the qualities that are required for this award. First and foremost, she personifies the best of Osteopathic education. Through her work with students and residents at her residency she advances their education and continues to increase our Osteopathic family medicine footprint,” shared Dr. Bidey. “She is the embodiment of a family physician leader. She knows her patients in and outside of the hospital and for that, they are truly lucky. She has immersed herself in her work and community and ever changed them both for the better.”
The POFPS Family Physician of the Year award is presented in recognition of outstanding service to the profession. Specific attributes include selfless acts of service to the profession, characteristics of the ideal family physician including but not limited to empathy, patient-centered care, respect for the profession, and models of professionalism in their community and profession.
Dr. Masser is board-certified in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment. She is the Assistant Director of the Family Medicine Residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. She earned her master’s in medical education from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, her DO degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), and a master’s in biomedical sciences from PCOM.
