Crichton Rehabilitation Center Unveils Renovated Private Rooms
April 26, 2021
As the Crichton Rehabilitation Center at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary in July, the facility has unveiled a slate of new renovations to enhance the patient experience throughout the rehabilitation process.
Renovations include newly remodeled private rooms available to all patients to improve their experience throughout rehabilitation. Patients enjoy many of the comforts of home including in-room dining, private bathrooms, desks, couches, lounge chairs, and television. During breaks in treatment, patients can relax in privacy or visit comfortably with family members. To further enhance patient safety, the center has added an ambulation system that helps those suffering from significant balance deficits. This system safely supports patients so therapists may work with them without fear of falling. Crichton also has incorporated an advanced patient monitoring system to prevent wandering/elopement and keep patients safe and secure.
Crichton Rehabilitation Center has delivered high-quality, life-changing care to more than 13,000 patients over the past 25 years. The center provides all-inclusive rehabilitation services designed to help patients return to an active lifestyle. Crichton’s healthcare providers deliver a full continuum of care to patients suffering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological conditions, trauma, arthritic injury, orthopedic injury, or other conditions. In addition to the on-site team of physical, occupational, and speech therapists and rehabilitation nurses, Crichton works closely within the Conemaugh Health System to provide in-house vascular, orthopedic, and psychiatric care to patients.
Established in 1996 to serve patients throughout the region, Crichton Rehabilitation Center was named after John Crichton, a well-known and respected community and business leader in Johnstown. Crichton dedicated more than 40 years of his life to the Conemaugh Health System and was instrumental in establishing the Crichton Rehabilitation Center.
Located at Conemaugh’s Lee Campus on Main Street in Johnstown, Crichton employs more than 60 healthcare professionals and brings more than 500 patients, as well as their friends and families, to the downtown community annually.
