Conemaugh Physician Group – Family Medicine welcomes Eliza Poareo, MD, MPH

Conemaugh Health System is pleased to welcome Eliza Poareo, MD as Board-certified Family Medicine Physician. She will be seeing patients at Conemaugh Ebensburg Outpatient Center, Ebensburg, PA.  

Dr. Poareo received her Bachelor of Science degree in public health from the University of the Philippines, Manila, Philippines before attending Far Eastern University in Quezon City, Philippines. After earning her medical degree, Dr. Poareo attended Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles, CA where she received her Master of Public Health in Urban Health Disparities in addition to a graduate certificate in public health concepts. 

A graduate of the Conemaugh Family Medicine Residency program, Dr. Poareo has spent the past three years embracing the Johnstown community and contributing to the extensive care offered by the health system. “The exceptionally talented and dedicated care team treated me like family from day one,” said Dr. Poareo. “And I have felt extremely welcomed into the community.” 

As an advocate for health preventative services, Dr. Poareo is passionate about promoting health literacy and a friendly atmosphere in her practice. “I hope to educate my patients and their families so that they are equipped to make well-informed choices with regards to their health,” said Poareo. “My patients can expect a personalized approach to their care and an atmosphere free of judgement.” 

Dr. Poareo’s free time is spent enjoying time outdoors, going for walks around the neighborhood, and playing with her pet guinea pig, cat, and dogs.  

Specializing in chronic disease management, well and sick visits, and adult preventative services, Dr. Poareo is now accepting new patients at Conemaugh Ebensburg Outpatient Center.
