Conemaugh Physician Group – Cardiology welcomes Cardiologist Syed Raza Shah, MD

Conemaugh Physician Group – Cardiology, is thrilled to welcome Syed Raza Shah, MD, as a Preventative Cardiologist. 

Dr. Shah earned his medical degree from the Dow Medical College in Pakistan.  He completed his residency program at the University of Central Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and pursued advanced fellowship training at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.  

A dedicated Preventative Cardiologist, Dr. Shah expressed his commitment to saving one heart at a time. His primary focus lies in mitigating the risk of heart disease development, as well as preventing the occurrence of initial heart attacks or strokes in his patients.  

Dr. Shah’s areas of expertise include heart attack, heart failure, arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol levels, and the management of obesity.  

"I've come to recognize that empathy is the cornerstone of successful patient care. It enables me to comprehend the significant stress many patients experience due to their diagnoses and the associated financial burdens,” said Shah, discussing his treatment processes for patients. “I try to place myself in their shoes, asking, 'How would I wish to be treated if I were in their situation?'”
