“We are thrilled to welcome Kris to the executive team,” said Conemaugh Health System's market president, Rodney Reider. “I have worked with Kris in the past and know her to be a proven healthcare leader and innovator who will bring ideas and strategic vision to CMMC while prioritizing exceptional patient care.”
In her role, Ms. O’Shea will be responsible for oversight of all nursing activities and clinical operations at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. She brings more than 40 years of nursing leadership experience to the role and has earned numerous awards and professional recognitions including winner of the Nightingale of Pennsylvania award, Health Data Management 50 Top Healthcare IT Experts, and the Drexel University Outstanding Preceptor Award among other honors.
Most recently, Ms. O’Shea served as senior vice president, and chief nurse executive for WellSpan Health where she oversaw eight acute care hospitals and a large medical practice that employed over 1200 primary care and specialty providers.
While at Wellspan, she created a system-wide Shared Decision-Making Structure to provide staff and leadership involvement in system standardization of practice, professional development, leadership, and research and clinical informatics topics.
“Ms. O’Shea is a servant leader who has dedicated her career to building teams, solving problems, and improving patient care,” said Reider. “She has a track record of providing excellent mentorship, strengthening clinical operations, and improving patient experience.”

Prior to working for WellSpan, Ms. O’Shea served as vice president of patient care and chief nursing officer at Gettysburg Hospital and was responsible for the development of a Clinical Advancement Program. Under her leadership, she fostered a culture in which the nurses actively participated with managers in key initiatives and decision-making.
“Kris has a track record of creating cultures that encourage recruitment and retention of top nursing talent,” added Reider. “She is the right person for the job, and we are fortunate to have this level of talent on our team. Kris will help ensure our commitment to making our communities healthier.”
