Conemaugh Health System welcomes Matthew Walton, DO

Conemaugh Health System is pleased to welcome family medicine physician Matthew Walton, DO.
Hailing from Ligonier, Pa., Dr. Walton received his Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College before receiving his Doctor of Osteopathy from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie and completing his osteopathic internship and family practice residency at UPMC McKeesport.
He practices as a family physician and specializes in wellness visits, annual physicals, chronic illnesses, vaccines, and medication consults.
Before joining Conemaugh Physician Group, Dr. Walton practiced as a primary care physician at Allegheny Health Network Prime Medical Group for over eight years. “I am honored and excited to be getting back to my roots and caring for members of my community,” said Walton.
Dr. Walton leans on his own experiences as a former cancer patient to provide excellent care. “Giving my patients the tools and knowledge they need to improve their health will be an important part of the positive patient experience my patients and the community can expect from me,” shared Walton.
During his residency program, Walton served as a medical volunteer for several community organizations including the 9th Street Clinic at the YMCA in McKeesport, where he served as a resident physician. He also aided in the facilitation of osteopathic manipulative medicine classes at Seton Hill University and became a junior faculty.
Dr. Walton is an avid Steelers fan who enjoys spending time with family. He also finds time in his busy schedule to volunteer as a firefighter with the Dryridge Volunteer Fire Department in Greensburg.
He is now accepting new patients.
