Conemaugh Health System Celebrates the Graduation of 2024 Internal Medicine Residents

Conemaugh Health System proudly announces the graduation of its 2024 Internal Medicine Residents. This year's ceremony marks the culmination of years of rigorous training, dedication, and exceptional patient care by a group of talented and compassionate physicians.
Saba Waseem, MD, Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, remarked on the residents' journey: "Our residents have demonstrated remarkable resilience, adaptability, and a passion for learning. They have thrived in a challenging and dynamic environment, and their growth as physicians has been a testament to their hard work and dedication. We are immensely proud of their achievements and look forward to their future successes."
The 2024 graduating class comprises a diverse group of residents who have displayed excellence in clinical practice, research, and leadership throughout their training. They have played an integral role in various initiatives within Conemaugh Health System, including quality improvement projects, community health outreach, and innovative research endeavors.
The 7 graduates have accepted positions in esteemed medical institutions across the country, where they will continue to advance their training and expertise.

- Sidra Kalsoom, MD – Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, OH.
- Maha Mumtaz, MD – Nephrology Fellowship at Rush University Hospital, Chicago, IL.
- Zonghao Pan, MD – Hospitalist, with Apogee Hospitalist Group, Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, PA.
- Rahul Prakash Rane, MD – Pulmonary-Critical Care Fellowship at Allegheny Hospital, Drexel University, Pittsburgh, PA
- Asna Shahab, MD – Hospitalist, with USACS Medical Group, Petersburg, VA
- Yazeed Sweedan, MD – Primary Care Physician, with Valley Health System, Winchester, VA.
In addition to the 7 graduates, Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center is proud to share that four Preliminary Medicine Residents have also successfully completed their education and training.
