Conemaugh Health System welcomes Dr. Richard Wu, MD, PhD

Conemaugh Health System is pleased to welcome Richard Wu, MD, PhD, as a clinical pathologist at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. 

Board-certified in molecular and genetic pathology, hematopathology, and atomic and clinical pathology, Dr. Wu received his Bachelor of Medicine from the Zhejiang University School of Medicine in Hangzhou, China. He continued his education at the Institute of Liver Cancer Research, Zhoushan Hospital of Fudan University in Shanghai, China, where he earned his Master of Science. He then earned his PhD from the Institute of Sports Medicine/Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Beijing University in Beijing, China. 

Dr. Wu has conducted extensive research while working as a Research Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry at Rush University, a Research Associate in the Department of Surgery at the University of Chicago, a Senior Scientist at the Research Institute of Astellas Pharmaceutical Inc., and a Research Fellow in the Department of Pathology at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Wu’s professional experience began at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where he worked as a Pathology Resident in the Department of Pathology. Since then, he has provided pathology and hematopathology expertise and support to healthcare facilities in Florida, Texas, Illinois, and Ohio. 

Holding numerous honors and awards for his research, Dr. Wu has authored many notable publications while serving as a Research Fellow and Associate at The University of Chicago, Chicago IL.
