The Conemaugh School of Nursing (CSON) proudly announces that all 33 students from the 2024 graduating class have successfully passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) on their first attempt, achieving a remarkable 100% pass rate for the second year in a row.
This outstanding accomplishment sets CSON apart, as the national average for first-time NCLEX test-takers in 2023 was 79.9%. Conemaugh’s consecutive perfect scores position the program among an elite group of nursing schools nationwide that consistently maintain such exceptional standards.
“We are incredibly proud of our students and faculty for their dedication and hard work in reaching this milestone for the second consecutive year,” said Kimberly Ferry, Director of the Conemaugh School of Nursing and Allied Health Programs.
This achievement underscores the school’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and its mission to prepare highly skilled nurses for today’s healthcare landscape.
In addition to their impressive exam performance, all 33 graduates of the class of 2024 are now employed as registered nurses, with 31 choosing to begin their careers within the Conemaugh Health System.
“Having so many of our graduates choose to stay with Conemaugh is a tremendous source of pride,” said Kris O’Shea, Chief Nursing Officer. “It reflects the exceptional education they received and highlights the strong sense of community and commitment that we foster here.”
O’Shea added, “Their decision to serve the local community ensures continuity of care from highly skilled professionals who are deeply connected to the people we serve and to our mission of making communities healthier.”
