Am I able to leave the nursing unit during my stay?
Patients may be permitted to leave the unit for brief periods of time with the proper physician approval as long as it does not interfere with treatment. Please contact nurse if you wish to leave the unit, they will provide you further instruction.
Will I have access to Notary Services during my stay?
Notary Public Services are available to you free of charge. Please ask your nurse or the Director of Social Services to arrange this service.
Smoking
Because we care about your health, Conemaugh Nason has pledged to maintain a tobacco-free enviroment. Please respect our tobacco-free environment, both inside and outside on all hospital property. Patients are not permitted to leave their nursing unit to go outdoors.
What is the protocol for pain management and comfort?
We may not be able to take away all of your pain. We will safely treat your pain and work to keep you comfortable. Family members should tell our staff if they notice their loved one showing one or more of the following signs of pain:
- Facial wrinkling, blinking eyes, grimacing.
- Guarding an area of the body
- Crying/moaning
- Reduction in social interactions/routines
- Aggression, hitting/biting
- Increase in body movements
- Irritability, increased confusion
